Blog Attention, Life is too Short!! - Sai Ananya Yesterday, when boredom got the best of my friend..she decided to calculate how long she will live! In another way, how many days does she have left? Being an adolescent, I was always told, there is a lot of time to do things..there is a big life ahead of you! I believed that! On that note, I would put of things to a later date. When my friend, who just turned 17, approximated her days to live, my expectations were shocked to know that it came to a 5-digit number. I had expected the number to go in 6 or 7 digits. We think we have so many days. "I will do it later!" Either we waste it enjoying too much, or we don't enjoy it at all. Every day, out of all the incidents that happened to us, we end up pondering over that one incident...be it a small embarrassment, or an argument. Then we question our existence, our worth. Yet we don't realise that life is short...so short..that if we don't make up for our mistakes now, we die with regrets! And just because a person X did something bad to you, we are so consumed by our ego that we do not give them a second chance..we don't think of the other person as a human capable of making mistakes, we either do this...or we always leave the door open for perpetrators to come and attack us, like they always did, thinking we have time...it will be alright! The truth is nobody has time. Patience is needed, but not so much that it takes up your whole life. You cannot sit and expect life to change things for you; only when you change...life changes! So live every day with a gratefulness for being healthy, a happy smile on your face, because you look even more beautiful when you smile. And to enjoy it to the fullest while remaining grounded to our responsibilities. Each day try to break free from a bondage that is pining you down, try to cultivate a new flower within you, that kills off your weeds...It is those little steps. Those little steps end up creating a beautiful garden. Be it helping others, or spending some time for yourself, take a moment of the day to do it, because we are blinded by the ultimate truth and we procrastinate, when the time passes by, we live with guilt and regrets and wish for a time machine to go and change back things. Life is too short to be spent on disliking and spreading hate about people, but only if they knew! According to statistics, you spend about 19 days every year gossiping about stuff...doesn't seem like a humongous number? Even if you approximate your age to 78, you end up spending 1017 days or 2 years,9 months of your life gossiping. Now, it seems significant; this time can be used in self-improvement rather than talking about others. In the end, I am not asking you to hurry up, I am just telling life is short, so live it to the fullest, without regrets!
